Corby Study Table
The Corby study table was one of the few other furniture pieces i designed for Urban Ladder, with inspiration drawn from the mid-century modern aesthetic. This study table was devised to provide solutions for anyone who needs a workspace at home and desired a blend of beauty and functionality.
My philosophy behind the design of Corby was to create an ideal work environment for the user, paying attention to all the pain points associated with working from home. The attempt was to create an efficient workspace that can handle multiple tasks with ease.
One of the major pain points for many people while working from home is wire management. The notch cut out eliminated the ugliness associated with a wire management cutout; this was tucked into the back of the table, concealed but accessible.
The table also features adequate storage provision, with ample space to store files, documents, and other essentials. The drawer is thoughtfully designed to provide easy access to everything the user needs while working, while not causing discomfort being seated.
The table's generous dimensions mean that the user can spread out their work without feeling cramped or restricted. The large workspace also enables the user to work on multiple projects simultaneously, increasing productivity.
The mid-century modern aesthetic of the Corby Study Table is another of its standout features. The table's design is sleek and elegant, with clean lines and a minimalist look.
It is crafted from ethically sourced sheesham, and has a structural detail made of cast metal that ensures stability.
