Where It Began

 Furniture may have been the starting point, but curiosity has always led the way.

My education in Furniture and Interior Design laid the foundation for a way of thinking that continues to shape my work today; one that values versatility, adaptability, and a willingness to move between disciplines. 

Over the years, I have worked across furniture, lighting, home décor, packaging, accessories, and product development, often finding that the most interesting solutions emerge at the intersection of different fields.

I enjoy moving between sketchbooks, workshops, CAD models, factory floors, and conversations with makers.

Whether developing a new furniture collection, refining a manufacturing process, or exploring an unfamiliar material, I am driven by the challenge of learning, adapting, and bringing ideas into the physical world. I've never been particularly interested in fitting neatly into a single category. If anything, my practice has been shaped by the belief that good design benefits from a broad perspective.

 The objects we create rarely exist in isolation.

Much of my work has focused on understanding the people, materials, and processes behind the final product. I am particularly drawn to projects that celebrate traditional craftsmanship while finding ways to make it relevant within contemporary design. India's craft traditions hold an extraordinary wealth of knowledge, yet many continue to face challenges in an increasingly industrialised world.

Where possible, I aim to create products and systems that generate meaningful value for the communities behind these crafts. Sustainability plays an important role in this approach, not as an afterthought, but as a consideration embedded within every stage of design. From material choices and manufacturing methods to product longevity and responsible sourcing, I believe thoughtful design should consider both its impact and its legacy.

 At the heart of everything I do is a love for furniture.

Few design disciplines demand such a careful balance of function, materiality, ergonomics, aesthetics, and emotion. Furniture becomes part of people's lives in a way that few objects do. It is used daily, lived with for years, and often passed from one generation to the next.

The work that interests me most is honest, purposeful, and enduring. Objects that solve real problems, age gracefully, and reveal their character over time. Whether crafted by hand, manufactured at scale, or developed somewhere in between, I am ultimately interested in creating products that feel considered, useful, and lasting.

Because the best objects are not simply designed. They are lived with.
